The Asian Arts Agency
Asian Arts Agency is a dynamic arts development agency that develops, promotes and supports international contemporary and traditional South Asian arts through performances, workshops, new commissions and tours.
We have worked on several projects for the Asian Arts Agency including the UK tour for PunjabTronix, an international collaboration between Mercury nominated British-Indian music producer DJ Swami and traditional Punjabi folk musicians, and the Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali Group from Pakistan, who toured the UK in 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of their uncle, legendary singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Other projects have included one of the most respected voices in world music today, Kiran Ahluwalia, and acclaimed Brooklyn based Bhangra Funk and Dhol ‘n’ Brass band Red Baraat.
Media coverage for the artists has included interviews and live performances with BBC Radio Four’s Loose Ends, Late Junction, BBC World Service’s Arts Daily, World on 3, Cerys Mathews show on 6 Music and BBC’s Asian Network, along with reviews and features in The Guardian, The Times, The FT, The Independent, The Arts Desk and specialist world, folk music and Asian titles.
